Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of prohibited practices and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Previous Anime Crossovers
This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
